It feels like forever since I've had the urge to blog.

Its been a strange couple of months, been partying way too hard and not been doing enough work which is going to have to change, pronto! My current project started off very shaky and I found myself very uninspired. As it is my final year I wanted to only do projects which would excite me and reel me in. I had a long think about things I enjoyed which led me on to combining 2 things which I love. Illustration & Travel...So now I can say, I am producing Travel Guide Booklets for Children.

My 21st birthday was lovely, thanks to the Parentals, Ebor Ladies & Lads + my cous, Kelz for making it so. Next week I will be cruising around Paris with very little money, which I am very excited for!

Summer Months

Have had one of the best summers of my life which included teaching art classes in Quarry Bay, teaching English to local children, running an art camp, too much partying, lots of day trip adventures, learning about healthy food, hanging with my most favorite people in the world, days by the pool and not enough Illustration.....

and this worries me greatly!

I haven't had the slightest urge to even pick up a pen and start drawing and trying to teach myself how to use Illustrator has been stressing me out beyond belief! I'm hoping that returning to Leeds will somehow motivate and inspire me..

However, I have managed to involve myself in a few small projects...

1. CIARA CARE

My dads friend is launching a shampoo & conditioner line around South East Asia and needed some help as he wasn't happy with the original designs. I sent him a few templates which he could later expand on. Overall, he was happy with them and I can't wait to see the bottles in person!

2. GUITAR CASE

I was approached by a friend to design his guitar case which would integrate Music, Hong Kong & South Africa. It was quite fun designing & painting with a friend as I have painted since A'levels

Since finishing my live project, I've put quite a bit of thought in my future and what I want to accomplish in the third year which will help get me there. I enjoy Illustration but am also very interested in working behind the scenes in Fashion Photography, Creative Directing. I feel that it is easier to learn about Illustration and the software used at college but this isn't the same for Creative Direction.

Thinking about Freelance work just makes me utterly nervous, I have always wanted to be employed and not have to rely on myself completely to receive income and make the rules. I guess what i'm feeling right now is confusion.

My dream job would be to work for a magazine in the creative department... Most probably working on Photo shoots, hiring models, thinking up concepts etc BUT I would also like to continue with Illustration. This is something I'll have to hopefully discover during the third year.
