Although I was not curating on the day of the exhibition, I learnt quite a bit by observing:-
- Involved a lot of planning - Lay out work out on floor before placing on wall
- Create empty space around each piece of work to focus attention on individual pieces.
- Place art work together depending on theme or of a similar nature
- Symmetry!
- Odd number of frames works better
- Pay attention to the scale of both the artwork and the wall
- Aim to hang the center of the frame approximately five feet from the floor
