First ever competition brief

My first ever competition brief, was to design a cover for a Children’s Book. I wasn’t particularly happy with the outcome as I made the mistake of thinking about the visuals rather than producing a cover that would communicate to today’s generation of children, instead of stereotypical themes that were present in past generations. Although it wasn’t ideal to experience a moral setback during my first ever competition brief, I can truly say that it has taught me to consider designer ethics in my future projects. From that point, after tackling a number of experimental projects, my confidence levels slowly increased and I found a recurring theme in my work. After taking on another competition brief, I decided that I wanted to progress my ideas on Illustrating for Children.
